Thank You, Epsom & Ewell!
Stand Up To Racism — Epsom & Ewell
Event held · Saturday 27 June 2026What a day. On Saturday 27 June, over 100 of you came together at Rosebery Park to celebrate everything that makes our community special — and to stand united against racism and division. From the bottom of our hearts: thank you.
It was a truly joyous, family-friendly afternoon. Children had their faces painted, neighbours of all ages added to our community art project, a live band and a DJ filled the park with music, and the Epsom & Ewell Climate Network (EECAN) joined us alongside so many wonderful local groups and volunteers.
We were proud to hear powerful words of unity from speakers across our community, including Helen Maguire MP, Reverend Catherine Hutton of Epsom Methodist Church, Councillor Kate Chinn, and Councillor Jonathan Essex — together with statements of solidarity from the Mosque in Epsom and our local Sikh community, and from fellow Stand Up To Racism members. Their message was clear and shared by all: everyone in Epsom & Ewell deserves to feel safe, welcome and valued.
"We are here today because we choose to stand for something. We choose to say that racism has no home here. Disinformation has no home here and division has no home here. … As your Member of Parliament, I will continue to stand up to racism."
Helen Maguire MP
"I call for a community committed to each other, to actively combat the fear that comes with racism. Epsom Methodist Church will continue to be a space of safety and sanctuary for all."
Reverend Catherine Hutton, Epsom Methodist Church
"Today, Epsom & Ewell showed its true colours — warm, welcoming and united. Seeing so many neighbours, families and faith communities come together to share food, music and friendship was simply joyous. This is who we really are. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who came, spoke, performed and helped make the day such a success."
